What My Clients Say About Me

“Nick is a first class guitar teacher as well as being an extremely proficient guitarist in multiple genres. He finds out a student’s favourite types of music and their aims such as exams, performing live or personal pleasure. He then tailors lessons to meet a student’s musical tastes and aims. He is very knowledgeable and lessons are structured and well planned with regular revisions and reviews. He is always very encouraging and I always look forward to my lessons and the new challenges he sets. I have made far more progress than I could have ever expected under his expert and patient tutelage. As if that was not enough he is a really nice and interesting person to spend time with. I would recommend him very highly as a teacher of whatever type of guitar or music you wish to play.”

Paul testimonial

Nick will teach you what you want to learn. I've been learning theory, various styles, pop, rock, blues, classical, fingerpicking and techniques.

Nick is structured, providing printouts of your work so you can go back to it later. He will also find tunes which you want to play.

If you have trouble with one way of learning, he will try to find a way to suit you. He is easygoing, doesn't push, but suggests what you need to do to move on.

Jim's Video Testimonial

Nick is an experienced and extremely well accomplished guitar player with the personality and people skills to enable him to teach very successfully.

Lessons are fun, interesting and in a friendly atmosphere with no pressure, he is patient and understanding of the difficulties of the learning process but always instils in me the confidence to improve my guitar playing and set new personal goals.

Nick has a wide and impressive knowledge of music past and present and tailors his lessons to suit the aims and personal musical preferences of each student as well as having the ability to cover many different techniques, playing styles and theory.

Nick's truly effective teaching method allows me to learn at my own pace and moves forward only when I have acquired the ability and confidence to take on new challenges and aspects of guitar playing.

I have been attending lessons with Nick for just over two years and find the way I learn and practice incredibly enjoyable. His knowledge about the guitar, along with his passion for sharing and passing on his skills, means he is an ideal teacher for people of all ages wanting to learn.

- Bob King

“I have been taking acoustic guitar lessons for around 3 years now. I started when I was 12 in order to help me get ready for my GCSE in music. I couldn’t really play anything except for a few chords when I started. Now, I am getting ready for my grade 2 exam, I can strum, read tab and pluck the strings. Nick has been such a help and even though I do it over Skype, it doesn’t feel any different than if I was to do it in person. I really enjoy my lessons and between lessons he sets a practice plan which helps me to focus on areas I struggle with. Previously, I have had a few experiences with guitar instructors and Nick by far is the best.”

Emma testimonial

It's never too late! With the impending arrival of my 50th birthday I decided to take the plunge and try to achieve something I have wanted to do for years. Clear in the knowledge that I had little or no musical talent, I called Nick and arranged my first guitar lesson.

Two years on and I can play tunes that I grew up with, which I find very rewarding. It's a great switch off from work.

Nick has a calm, professional style that has guided me to achieve A higher level of playing ability than certainly I thought possible. His enthusiasm for you to learn and develop, matched with a structured approach is ideal for students of all abilities and ages.

Now i'm not saying I am at the same level as Dave Gilmour or Jimmy Page yet, but with practice who knows, (maybe when I am a bit older!!).

I was surprised at how well online lessons work - It's just like having lessons in person and the lesson sheets are sent over via skype.

I avoid extra fuel costs and traffic, plus I'm learning in the comfort of my own home
